Since early childhood, Neha was exposed to the world of Indian Raga Music. Her father, Shri Vidur Mahajan, a proponent of the Beenkar Gharana, not only trained Neha in her early years but also organized concerts of many great maestros at the Shriranga Kalaniketan Annual Music conference in the capacity of the head organizer. The musicians often stayed with the family and Neha got the opportunity to informally learn and get acquainted with the world of music. Neha studied under the mentorship of Shaswatti Saha for 5 years, to understand the perspective of the Maihar tradition of Sitar Playing. Neha also acquainted herself with the Senia tradition of Sitar playing under the mentorship of Shri Ravi Gadgil. She is currently learning from Ustad Zunain Khan, from the Beenkar Gharana.


In 2020, Neha was featured in Ricky Martin’s Pausa as a sitarist, which won the Latin Grammy and was nominated for the Grammy awards.


As an actor, Neha has also featured in Marathi, Hindi, Oriya and English films. Her National and International projects include Extraction (2020), Leila (2021), The Case (2019), amongst others.Neha has been featured in Vogue wearing Ritu Kurmar’s designs after the release of her film Midnight’s Children. Neha majored in Theatre at the Trimble Tech School in Texas, where she was awarded the Academic Year in America Scholarship. She also holds a Master’s in Philosophy from the University of Pune.
